About Me

I am somewhere between development and admin in a trading firm. I am generally interested in anything and everything to do with computers. Python is my language of choice, though I program in variety of languages. I have done quite a bit of work with XML (specifically XML Schema), various web technologies (especially javascript), high performance packet capturing, and a few other miscellaneous things. I have been a system administrator at various levels on Linux, OS X, Solaris, and Windows. I am generally interested in data mining, (some) AI, and network security.

I am currently on a leave of absence from University of Chicago, where I studied Computer Science. I was the co-chair of the UofC ACM from 2007 to 2009, and I was somewhat involved in the Ryerson Astronomical Society and the ACLUofC at various points.

I continue to reside in Chicago. I am a proud member of Chicago’s local hackerspace, Pumping Station: One; I co-run a hackathon every 4th Saturday starting at 8pm.
